When is the solar eclipse in 2022?
Two solar eclipses take place in 2022, both are partial. The first one occurred on April 30, and the second one will be on October 25.
The last partial solar eclipse of 2022 will begin on October 25, 2022, at 08:58 GMT, reach the maximum at 11:00 GMT, and end at 13:02 GMT. During the maximum, 86.2% of the Sun will be eclipsed. In comparison, during a partial solar eclipse in April this year, 63.96% of the Sun was hidden by the Moon. Therefore, the October solar eclipse can be considered relatively deep.

Where to see the partial solar eclipse?
Observers from Europe, the Urals, Western Siberia, Central Asia, Western Asia, South Asia, and the northeast of Africa will see the October partial solar eclipse.
Here are some cities where it will be visible and the percentage of the Sun coverage:

- Tehran, Iran (55.36%)
- Islamabad, Pakistan (55.56%)
- New Delhi, India (43.96%)
The maximum Sun coverage (86.2%) will be visible on the West Siberian Plain in Russia. This rate drops to 70% in the northwest of China and to 63-62% in the northeastern parts of Norway and Finland.

What does a partial solar eclipse look like?
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, casting a shadow on the Earth and blocking the sunlight partially or fully in some areas. During a partial solar eclipse, the three space bodies don’t make a perfect line, and the Moon casts only the outer part of its shadow on the Earth. As a result, we see the Sun in the shape of a crescent or as if the Moon had taken a "bite" from it.

When is the next eclipse 2022?
