Supermoons & Micromoons

Supermoon isn't an official astronomical definition, but there are times when the Moon looks so beautiful and big, stargazers had to call it something! So, an American astrologer Richard Nolle defined a Supermoon as "a New or Full Moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit". Micromoon, on the contrary, is a Full or New Moon around apogee (the farthest distance from the Earth). Here we provide a thorough infographic about Supermoons and Micromoons and when to observe Supermoons in 2024.
