The concept of a cosmic calendar was first introduced by famous astronomer Carl Sagan. On this calendar, the 13.8-billion-year history of the Universe is compressed into 1 Earth year: with the Big Bang taking place on the first second of January 1 and modern times arriving a few seconds before midnight of December 31. We made our own version of the cosmic calendar which will help you visualize the time differences between major events in the history of the Universe and realize just how brief human history is.
