What is That Bright Object in the Sky?
Have you ever seen a bright object in the sky and wondered what it could be? A star, a planet or just a plane? The stargazing app Star Walk 2 is your handy guide to identifying those bright objects you can see in the sky. Here’s how it works.
Step 1. Open Star Walk 2 and activate the “Star Spotter” function by pointing your device at the sky or tapping the compass icon in the upper left corner of the screen. A live representation of what you see in the sky will appear on the screen, and the app will start following your movements.
Step 2. Point your device at the part of the sky where the object is located. If necessary, adjust the magnitude (brightness of celestial objects) by moving the slider on the left side of the screen. You can reduce the brightness of objects to leave only those that you can see with the naked eye.
Step 3. Now you can identify that bright object and get the information about it by tapping on its name at the bottom of the screen.
Enjoy the sky!
