How to Find Out if a Celestial Event or an Object is Visible or Not in My Location?
Want to find an object in the sky, but not sure if it is observable from your location? Plan the ultimate stargazing experience with Star Walk 2. The app allows you to see whether a celestial event or an object is visible in the sky above your area at any given time and date. Hereās how.
Step 1. Make sure that your current location is set in the app settings. Tap the menu icon in the lower right corner of the screen, go to āSettingsā, āLocationā.
Step 2. Now tap the search icon in the lower left corner of the screen, enter the name of the object you need, select it, and the object will appear on the sky map.
Step 3. Then tap the clock icon (Time Machine) in the upper right corner of the screen and choose the year, month, day, hour and minute you need using the slider bar. To set the time and date without scrolling, tap and hold the Time Machine icon and set the parameters manually in the extended panel.
Step 4. You will see a map of the sky at the moment you are interested in, and you can see if the object or event is visible in the sky above you.
To avoid confusion, keep the visual effect called āHorizonā on. To turn it on, go to the app menu, choose āSettingsā, āVisual effectsā, āHorizonā.
